Financial Resolutions LLC began as a non-profit mentoring program called First Step Inc. at a small office in Albuquerque, New Mexico, April 26th of 2004.
In December of 2005, First Step incorporated as a for-profit Consultative Services organization. We moved into a beautiful adobe office complex on New Year’s Day 2006 and have the facilities to support a staff of 16. Our address is 1303 Rio Grande Boulevard NW, just north of Old Town, not far from the Rio Grande River in central Albuquerque.
In November of 2007, we expanded our Consultative Services to include Client Care and Debt Negotiation. The heart of all three departments is a mentoring approach that challenges each of our clients to bring financial management and life planning into focus. Each one of us is committed to the work of restoring harmony and purpose to people's lives.
If you live in the Albuquerque area or are traveling through and want to come visit please call 1.888.257.2552 and let us know when you plan to arrive. Our office is easy to access from I-40. Just take the Rio Grande Exit and turn north on Rio Grande. Go three blocks to Lilac, which is one block north of the light at Floral, and turn west (left) and take an immediate right into our parking lot. The building directly in front of you is our Suite. You are always welcome.

If you are unable to make it to our office, meet our staff below. Sometimes it can be good to put a face with a voice. While we are committed to serving our local community, many of our clients are spread out across the country and do not have the benefit of meeting us in person. We hope these brief biographies will give you a better idea of who we are.
Christine Fearfield, Accounting and Contract Facilitation
Christine Fearfield has been with the company since January of 2006 and has worked as a consultant, in our accounting department, and in client care where she assisted clients with payment plan adjustments and contract revisions. She now works as an administrative assistant .
She was born in Kent, England and was raised in Staten Island. Her work experience is in International Banking in New York City. Moving to Albuquerque from New York City was inspired by a desire to enjoy the beautiful New Mexico weather and more relaxed life style.
She has a real desire to help people, and is dedicated to this company and the work of easing the suffering caused by financial distress.
Christine enjoys painting watercolors, dabbling in poetry and making jewelry. In 2008 she adopted a Chihuahua (something she could never do in NY). Cocoa Bean, her little dog (pictured above), joins her every day at work. So if you are on the phone talking to Christine or emailing her, you can bet Cocoa is sitting beside her.
Martin Romero, Negotiations
Martin Romero is our primary negotiator. He brings a wealth of experience in dealing with finance from the mortgage industry.
Martin has a unique gift in working with creditors and attaining the desired results for our clients. Martin is just "cool."

She obtained her certified public accountant licensure in March, 1988 after passing the CPA exam with the highest grade in the state. She also holds a real estate Associate Broker’s license.
Claire owned her own accounting firm during the 1990s and has worked with many different types of businesses. Her expertise in financial consulting and business systems comes from years of owning her own businesses and working with many different types of business owners. She is a problem solver and assists in increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of our operations. She also keeps an eye on the bottom line!
Claire came to Albuquerque in 1980 from Southern California, where she was born, to escape the rat race of freeways, smog and people. She was drawn to Albuquerque’s open space, clean air, and opportunities. She has family in Southern New Mexico as her father was born in Roswell (no, he is not an alien…).
Claire has two teenage children and enjoys riding her motorcycle, traveling, and learning new concepts and theories. She truly enjoys business and is always involved in many different endeavors. Her latest passions are the stock market and internet marketing.

Peggy Pfau
Peggy Pfau is originally from Deerfield Beach, Florida, about 30 minutes north of Fort Lauderdale. She moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1978 to be with her family.
Peggy writes about her life in Florida and moving to New Mexico.
"Hello, I am Peggy Pfau. I am originally from Deerfield Beach, Florida about 30 minutes north of Fort Lauderdale. I moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1978 to be with my family.
While in Florida I helped my now former husband become a commercial pilot. This was an exciting time flying all over the country while he gained the flight time and experience. Of course, I was his flight attendant! While we were doing this and loving all of the outdoor activities Florida contains, deep sea fishing, boating, camping, I was in retail sales. During this time I had two beautiful daughters.
Unfortunately we divorced and I came to New Mexico to be with my parents. I decided to do more with my life and the love of flying. I attended NorthWest Airline School in 1980 and graduated as an airline reservation consultant. I wanted to help people plan exciting vacations they would remember for a lifetime. When the airlines experienced a deregulation I went back into sales helping people plan their future by selling wedding rings and other beautiful jewelry and diamonds.
As my two daughters grew, I decided to take a 9 to 5 job working with hot air balloons so I could devote more time to them and my passion of flying. Over the next decade plus, I was the Administrative Assistant to the President of the corporation. I designed and sold Aerostar hot air balloons. I traveled extensively to different balloon rallies promoting sales and just having fun. With 1000 or more fights over a 20 year time period, I retired from ballooning and sought out the fast growing field of internet sales. I worked for the number one company for close to a decade becoming the number one sales person in the country. My love for people came into play again, helping with customer service on how to use the internet and give people a chance to touch the world.
When the .com revolution came to a stand still, I thought about how I could continue my passion for caring and giving. I met Stephen Daney with Financial Resolutions and he told me his dream. This is a perfect fit to continue to help people. My experience and expertise in the financial world has relieved the stress in so many lives; people can live again with a fresh start. I create customized financial plans to fit your budget and to assist you in relieving the overwhelming burden of your debt in the quickest and cheapest way possible.
As for my future, I have just married the man of my dreams, June 2009. I also intend on staying with Financial Resolutions forever and someday retiring with the knowledge I have made a real difference in people’s lives."
Stephen Daney, Director and Founder
Stephen Daney was born near Crow Agency, Montana. He attended Drury College in Springfield, Missouri on a tennis scholarship, the University of Chicago and the University of Missouri in Kansas City, Missouri where he studied literature and philosophy.
He has had a lifelong interest in contemplative practice and inter-religious dialogue. For five years, he lived and worked in a contemplative prayer community, Shantivanam, a lay House of Prayer for the Archdiocese of Kansas City, Kansas. While there, he did carpentry work and spiritual direction with guests while living as a full participant in the community. Following his 5 years there, he spent four months at a Zen Buddhist Monastery in California followed by two years in a hermitage in the Flint Hills of Kansas.
Following these experiences he married, had two children and founded a design build firm, North Fork Building and Design, Inc. which was instrumental in introducing the Earthship home design pioneered by Taos architect Michael Reynolds to north Texas. Though Stephen is not currently working in the building trades, he continues to be interested in rethinking the way we design living spaces and in developing solar, wind and earth centered building technologies.
For 10 years he worked in the financial sector and was concerned about the problem of chronic indebtedness and financial dysfunction. He began thinking about a way to restore harmony and purpose to people's lives through effective and intelligent financial thinking and practice.
Financial Resolutions was founded on the simple premise that money and money management should serve “Life” in all its variety, intention and meaning. “Life” does not and cannot serve money. While building this business, Stephen continues to develop a mentoring and educational program that explores money and meaning with clients.
Stephen is a member of the Nazrudin Project, a think tank of financial advisers worldwide who are exploring issues of spirituality and human behaviors toward money.
